Peck's Plaza – 1983-1984: Peck's Plaza, located in Kansas City, Missouri, and built in 1914, served Kansas City for many years as a prominent department store, the George B. Peck Dry Goods Company. The 11-story building with 89,000 rentable square feet is listed on the National Register of Historical Places. Mr. Daves was hired as the project architect and worked with a local architectural firm (PBNA) to develop the base building. Renovation cost was $4,000,000. The architectural design of Peck's Plaza is an intriguing mixture of both commercial and classically decorative styles.

Scarritt Arcade 1984-1985: Scarritt Arcade, located in the Central Business District of Kansas City, Missouri, has been recognized as a landmark listed in the National Register of Historical Places. The Scarritt Arcade was built in 1904 and has 24,500 square feet. It is unique with its 4-story light courts. While this arrangement from a practical standpoint wastes space, it provides a highly unusual and, to many people, highly desirable visual amenity which cannot be found in most newer buildings. A building such as the Scarritt Arcade creates a variety of images, including those of quality and stability associated with heritage and longevity. Kevin Daves was the project architect and Solomon Claybaugh were the local architects.
